Colin Humphries a.k.a. "The Hitman"
Began playing in 1963, starting out with Beat and R&B groups, studying with Joe Morello and Roy Burns, and then graduating to playing Jazz, Fusion, Progressive Rock, Latin etc as both a drummer and a percussionist with live bands and also as a session musician in the recording studio.

From 1970 - 73 trained as a teacher and later as a psychologist and successfully combined a career in special education with continuing to play and teach drums, setting up Pulse!! in 1982.
In 1990 left his post of Head Teacher and special needs advisor to concentrate on teaching percussion and running a drum shop.
During this time in addition to teaching individual pupils he also ran workshops for schools and music therapy sessions for children and adults with special needs.
Also hosted and performed in masterclasses and clinics with such drummers as Billy Cobham, Alex Acuna, Richard Bailey, Gregg Bisonette, Dennis Chambers, Gary Husband, Danny Gottlieb, Steve White, Neal Wikinson, Alan White, Tal Bergman amongst many others
In 1998 decided to throw all his energies into the teaching programs with Pulse!! becomming a full time tuition facilty.
In 1999 also took up new appointments with Cardiff L.E.A and is currently working with children with severe learning, emotional and behavioural problems. He also teaches percussion in the field of Adult education and organises and leads percussion workshops for all comers. (Check the website for details of forthcoming events!)
In addition to his teaching schedule he leads the Jazz / Rock outfit "Stormdancer", R&B ensemble "The Hellhounds"and progressive rock band "Dragon"
Freelance sessions, technical support at concerts and festivals, product demos, organising drum events, masterclasses and clinics, writing articles for RHYTHM and working on a series of tutor books all contribute to Colins knowledge and experience.
It is the fusion of Colins unique backgrounds as a professional musician and educationalist which have made lessons at Pulse!! informative, accessible, and enjoyable!
